Truth and Reconciliation Community – Bobcaygeon and Mishkodeh Centre for Indigenous Knowledge are hosting a Remembrance Ceremony on September 30th at the Boyd Museum. We will gather at 5 outdoors to honour the memory of the children who did not make it home from residential schools as well as those who survived this painful time in our history.
Community educator Brittany Taylor and singer/educator Peggy Day, both of Curve Lake First Nation, will help us to recognize the impact of the history of residential schools on individuals, families and communities.
After a brief ceremony at the Boyd we will carry the 215 stones from our art installation acknowledging the children of residential schools to the Gdinuhwendimin garden at the Beach Park for a closing moment.
While the ceremony will be relatively brief please consider bringing a chair if you require one for your comfort.
