Elder and award winning educator Melody Crowe graced a group of avid listeners on Saturday October 24th at the Boyd Museum. People came away with increased understanding and appreciation of Anishinaabe history, culture and language.

Participants comments capture the flavour of this terrific event.

Melody is lovely and such a thoughtful and interesting speaker. She shared about her personal family story, taught us some Anishinaabemowin in such a beautiful way, medicine wheel teachings and more.

It was a terrific event – such wonderful teachings and stories.

We are hoping to learn more from Melody in the future… perhaps this will also include a visit to the Black Oak Savannah and Long Grass Prairie where learning on the land adds an extra dimension while learning from the first teacher “the land.”
